We have had some great conversations today on life after death, the resurrection, the role of the Savior in our lives, and the importance of eternal families. I know that in the grand scheme of things, losing a pet is not way up on the list, but it is hard to see my children so sad and know there is nothing I can do to make them feel better. We have had lots of prayers today thanking our Heavenly Father for the opportunity we have had to have fun with Callie and also asking Him not to let her suffer anymore.
As we were discussing the possibility of taking her into the vet tomorrow to have her put to sleep, Hunter asked me how long she would have to sleep before she would feel better. When I explained what being put to sleep actually meant, he left the living room for a few minutes. When he came back in, he had tears streaming down his face. I asked him if he wanted to say a prayer with us but he told me he already had. Oh, to have the faith of a little child! I'm not sure how much sleeping will be happening in the Comeau household tonight, but hopefully our little kitty will soon be out of her misery!

I am so sad for you guys! That is such a hard thing. I think it is an important thing for kids to go through, but really tough.
Mom told Maya a couple of weeks ago that Callie wasn't doing well and she (Maya) became hysterical. I can't imagine how she would be with a pet of her own.
I am so sorry for you guys. We'll be thinking about you guys!
Thank you, Miller girls! Yesterday was really tough, but today was a little bit better. Some of their friends brought them each a little cat figurine. They had written "In Memory of Callie, 2008" on the bottom of each cat. It was such a sweet gesture, but issued forth many new tears. SIGH!!!!!!!
