What a fun day! We went to the parade this morning. Jordan's football team was in it so it was fun to see him. Our little town's parade had 127 entries!! WOW!! It took 1 1/2 hours. Sara and Abby, my teaching buddies, and Abby's little girl, Stella, joined us. The kids got TONS of candy, toothbrushes, and some T-shirts. After the parade, we rode lots of rides and walked around the vendor booths. Jordan had a little too much "spinnage" on his rides and consequently he was feeling pretty yucky for a good part of the afternoon. We decided to take him home for a rest.
For dinner, we had a barbecue. Sara came and ate with us. We decided to finish off our day with a "grown-ups" versus "kids" whiffle ball game. Mikayla led the cheerleaders, Jordan and Hunter were on the "kids" team, with about 10 other neighborhood kids, Lexie was off catching ladybugs, and Doug, Sara, and I were the "grown-ups" (a term you will not see me use often to describe Doug.) We had a blast. Doug and Jordan decided to celebrate the occasion by "growing" a little facial hair. No worries, they were both able to "shave" quite easily in order to get ready for the Sabbath! ;-)

Like father, like son!

Thanks so much for inviting me over! I had such a great time! You guys are fantastic!
Thanks for coming over. My kids love spending time with you. They think it's pretty cool to have a teacher hang out with them!!
I wish I could have been there. It sounds like you guys had a great time.
It was really fun to see ya'll today at church. Lexie sat at the end of her row, right next to us and would smile and wave every once in a while.
I am excited for her birthday party. I haven't been to Chuck E. Cheese in ages!
We missed you, too! Lexie is so excited to have you come! Sara, if you read this, we want you to come, too. I will call you this week. Abby, if you weren't in Vegas...don't suppose you want to come home early for a trip to see Chuck, do you? :-)
Toothbrushes?? I don't know why but I find that very impressive! Maybe because I just spent about $10 for new ones. Sounds like a great family day!
